STRESS is a response to a situation that requires attention or action and ANXIETY is a response to uncertainty and danger.

Stress happens to us all and is normal and healthy short-term. Our bodies release hormones to initiate our “fight or flight” response to help us resolve an issue that requires attention or action.
Good stress happens when we encounter fun challenges and activities like starting a new job, getting married or the anticipation before riding a rollercoaster. Good stress helps to keep us energized, motivated, work towards goals and feel good about life.
Bad stress can be triggered by issues such as work-related pressures, relations problems, financial problems, health issues or bereavement. Acute stress is usually temporary and goes away when the issues have been resolved, however chronic stress can lead to anxiety.
Anxiety is excessively worrying or feelings of fear or dread and makes us irrational and stops us from thinking straight. Anxiety can be triggered by childhood or past trauma, physical and mental health problems, our belief systems, drugs and alcohol, social factors or major life changes.
Both stress and anxiety can have a physical, emotional, or psychological impact on us causing symptoms such as chest pain, increased heart rate, interrupted sleep, confusion, difficulty breathing, muscle tension, irritability/anger, difficulty in concentrating and fatigue.
Hypnotherapy can be a highly effective way to manage stress and anxiety. Hypnotherapy can help you with positive behaviour changes, coping strategies, positive thought patterns, physical and emotional control, self-awareness and relaxation.
